Larry Ray Thomas

Larry Ray Thomas was called up to heaven on February 25th, 2022 at the age of 63. He was the cherished son of Fannie Mae Thomas and the late Ronnie Ray Thomas; beloved brother of David (Laurie) Thomas, Debbie (Mario) Villarreal, Roger (Vicky) Thomas and Patty Troly, Larry is survived by his four children, Debbie Stevens, Amy Gilbert, Amanda Thomas and Dylan (Tonya) Thomas. He is preceded in death by Carol Thomas (sister), Ronald (Risa) Thomas (brother) and Samantha Mae Thomas (Niece). Larry had been blessed with 11 grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Throughout his life, Larry made two lifelong friends, Michael Johns, whom he attended elementary and high school with and Carlos Reyes, whom for a while was a friend, quickly turning into a brother.

Larry Ray Thomas enlisted into the military (Army) in December of 1976, where he served his country proudly until his Honorable Discharge in the year 1979. He then moved on to working for Diversey Harbor, Joanna Western Mills, O’Hare International Airport and Palmer House.

Larry was a die-hard Chicago sports fan. You could always count on him to give you the latest updates on the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks and Bears. Until the very end, he had convinced himself that the Chicago Bears would find themselves in Super Bowl 2023!  He spent a majority of his time watching movies, Goodfellas , Scarface and even his beloved brothers (Porkey / Risa ) collection of the Sopranos and Oz  , Larry enjoyed listening to many different genres of music, from country to hard rock, while also playing Spades, Hearts and Breakout with his beloved mother and siblings.

R.I.P. Brother , Your up there now creating new memories with Porkey, Samantha ,Dad… Don’t worry about MOM she will taken care of by all of us here.
We never got to say a final goodbye , but I know you were ready to leave the pain you endured , But there is no more pain now. I know you are in a better place , we will all meet up once again , Get ready to enjoy all the decorations your sister will be doing each holiday that comes by.

Ill leave you with this…

You went away so suddenly
We did not say goodbye
But brothers can never be parted
Precious memories never die.

Love you , Your Brother ( Pudge )
