John J. McCann, native of Carrowreagh, Frenchpark, County Roscommon, Ireland. Beloved husband of the late Bridget (nee Finn) for 57 years; devoted son of the late Thomas and Helen; cherished father of Helen (Francis) Loftus and Thomas (Stephanie); proud grandfather of John and Claire McCann and Angela and Sean Loftus; and loving brother of Maureen McCann-Robinson and the late T.J. John was known for his boundless energy, irrepressible good cheer, and gregarious Irish nature which made him a cherished friend to so many. He was a man of character, who loved his wife and family, always helped others, and had an undaunted optimism in the fundamental goodness of people. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from Gibbons Family Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park Rd. (1/2 Block East of Austin) to St. Paul of the Cross Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
